KCP berates street vendor shifting

    IMPHAL, May 15: The KCP (Maoist) has today claimed that the policy of shifting of street vendors from bazaar area to an unsuitable place at Lamphel is an anti people act of the O Ibobi led government.In a statement released by the outfit’s assistant secretary publicity and propaganda, Nonglen Meitei, KCP (Maoist) strongly observe that a place with no components of a market place can never be turned into a market place saying the hilltop of Nongmaiching can never be a market place as there will be hardly any customer to trade. The sole aim of O Ibobi Singh and his collegues is to earn contract work rather than bringing development in real sense, the KCP (Maoist) alleged and asked general public to be aware of intentions of public leaders who are looting money meant for people in the name of bringing development.The KCP(Maoist) also reiterates that the outfit would never remain silent regarding street vendor’s policy and vowed to work for the welfare of the poor street vendor.
