UKHRUL, Aug 29: The abducted EE of PWD, Ukhrul, Wungshim Kasar, has been released by its abductor unharmed after being held captive for eight days.
According to sources, the abducted officer was released by its captors at Luwang Sangol Kuki village at the Eastern side of Kanglatombi under Saikul Police station this afternoon around 1 pm.
The condition behind the release of the officer remained unclear till the filing of this report.
It may be recalled that the executive engineer, Wungshim Kasar, working in Manipur Government Service and posted in Imphal as a Surveyor of Works (SW) was abducted from his official quarter at Litan at on the midnight of August 21 midnight.
The abduction was later owned by the KNLF, a Kuki militant group however the motive behind the abduction still remained unclear.
