LAMKA, Oct 31: As part of kicking off his campaign for the 10th Legislative Asssembly election slated to be held in the month of February 2012, president of the United Zou Organisation GS Haupu organised a campaign rally-cum-workers’ meet at T Lanchah village organized under the aegis of Tuitha Areas Development Committee, TADC, a conglomeration of about 20 village chiefs.

The rally was attended by Singngat area MDCs G Suanchinpau, P Sianzadong Tongkai Baite and other public leaders including village chiefs, singers, artists as well as a good number of media persons.

Many talkers at the rally pointed out the lack of development in the area and decried the sitting MLA from the 60th a/c for completely avoiding the people.

G Suanchinpau MDC questioned, how many village of the area have a modernized community hall to host a function like the one held today and added that as a result of this, even a small programme have to be organize at home where there are not enough spaces to keep musical instruments used to entertained the gatherings.

Hinting at the MLA he said there are funds sanctioned for development of all this and others yet no implementation have taken place due to which the people are suffering in different areas mainly water supply, lack of good roads as well as power.

P Sianzadong, MDC also stated that GS Haupu is the most likely person to get a Congress ticket by virtue of his followers and given a solid backing by four Congress (I) MDCs.

Sianzadong said this is possible as the MDCs will give their signatures is favour of the fact that he is given the ticket and added that if the candidate gets elected then the facilities will be delivered to the doorsteps of the people.

GS Haupu the intending candidate has stated that he has dedicated the rest of his life for the service of the people and to work for their well-being.

Maintaining that he has done so many good things for the people of Singngat like in the field of educational promotion which is the key to development he said if he is elected a link Road will be constructed for Kangkap, Behiang and Khaukual village area residents

Dwelling at length about the internal tussles of the UZO he said he was pressurized from various corners to lead the ZOUs and become a leader and yielding it he took the cudgels and led it thus far.
