KCP-Lallumba cadres offered oppurtunities during meet

IMPHAL, October 21: A one day workshop to sensitize the cadres of the KCP-MC (Lallumba), who had entered into a tripartite agreement with the state and central government, on the issues pertaining to their rehabilitations was held today at the 7th Manipur Rifles Battalion Head Quarter, Khabeisoi.

The additional SP/CID (SB), Manipur S Gautam Singh, in a statement said that the workshop which is part of the rehabilitation process undertaken by the government was attended by police officials, government representatives and bank officials.

It said during the workshop, the UBI Imphal, nodal bank, for rehabilitation made a detailed presentation on the avenues open to the cadres and the procedure involved in availing financial assistance from the bank under various schemes. The cadres were exhorted to make the best use of this opportunity towards self-employment, it said.

It further informed that earlier the cadres were given three months vocational training at the Art of Living Foundation, Pune besides vocational training in driving by the Assam Rifles and in various trades like poultry farming, piggery and Pisci culture by various institutes like Agricultural University, Iroisemba and state fishery department. 

It further informed that as a part of the rehabilitation package, the leaders and cadres of the group are given monthly stipend. Moreover, a one time financial assistance along with weapon incentive will also be paid to the cadres/leaders, it asserted.

The state government through the joint monitoring group is closely monitoring early implementation of the special rehabilitation package provided for the cadres in the tripartite agreement to enable them to lead a normal life, it claimed.

The militant group entered into a tripartite agreement between the state and central government in 2010 for a year which later was extended for another year in August 2011.
