Manipur emerges champion in NE Wushu

IMPHAL, Nov 14: Manipur emerged overall champion in the 6th North East Zone Wushu Championship which concluded today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

On the the final day Manipur bagged altogether 22 goal medals thereby enhancing their goal account and consequently emerging overall team champion in the championship.

In the sub-junior boys – 24kg category, Bedanta of Manipur bagged gold while  H Karnajit of Manipur bagged silver medal.

In the sub-junior boys – 36kg category Y Jeshan of Manipur defeated N Bishwamitra of Arunachal Pradesh to win gold while in the 40kg category, Ch Sanajaoba of Manipur bagged gold after defeating Kh Sanathoi of Nagaland in the final.

In the 44kg category of the same category, Ksh Dalber Singh of Manipur defeated Lalnunthara of Mizoram to win gold.

In the 52kg category, Th Bickey of Manipur bagged gold by defeating Tiplanglyngdoh in the final.

In the girls 44kg sub-junior category Bidyabati Devi of Manipur defeated N Sharmila of AP to bagged gold while in in the 44kg of the same category Malemnganbi of Manipur also bagged gold.

In the junior boys category 48kg, Kh Rohit defeated Kilikan Basumatary of Assam to bagged gold for the state while M Nipon Singh bagged gold in the same category in the 65kg class. In the 70kg class, Sachikanta bagged gold for the Manipur team.

In the senior Men 48kg class N Boney of Manipur bagged gold while in the Senior men 52kg class Oinam Romen Singh of Manipur won gold.

In the senior men 56kg categoryPh Beishop Meitei of Manipur won gold while in the senior men 60kg category L Dilip Singh of Manipur won gold.

In the senior men 65kg category N Damu Meitei won gold while T Bisheshwar also of Manipur bagged gold in the senior men 75kg category.

In the senior women 52kg category, M Mamtaj Chanu of Manipur bagged gold while in the senior women 75kg category, K Romila Devi of Manipur bagged gold.
