UNLF observes its 47th anniversary

IMPHAL, November 24: The United Liberation Front (UNLF) in a statement issued by its senior publicity secretary, Ksh Yoiheiba, has informed that the outfit has widely observed its 47th anniversary in and outside the state today.

It said that the anniversary was also observed at its central head quarter (CHQ), district head quarters, branch/unit head quarters, MPA general head quarter, battalion head quarters, task force head quarters along with the well wisher and sympathizer of the outfit.

It said the main observation was organized at the outfit’s central head quarter and MPA (its armed wing) head quarter.

The CHQ’s observation was presided by the acting chairman of the central committee and was also attended by the general secretary and other executive members of the committee, it further said.

The observation at the MPA head quarter was presided by the outfit chief of army staff (COAS) and attended by GSO, GHQ officers and cadres of the outfit, the release added.

The observation was marked with parade by the cadres, hoisting of the outfit’s flag and paying floral tribute at the portraits of the organizations late founders and ‘martyrs’ which included Kalalung Kamei (founder president), Thangkhopao Shingshit (founder vice president), Arambam Somorendra (founder general secretary), Dr. Longjam Manimohon (founder CC member), Laishram Kanhai (founder CC member), NK Sanajaoba (founder CC member), N Pahari (founder CC member), the release maintained.

It said the gathering also re-affirmed to further strengthen the revolutionary movement to realize the vision of the late leader to liberate Manipur from colonial rule.

During the observation deliberate discussion was held on the message of the acting chairman, chief of army staff, annual journal of the outfit and prevailing situation, informed the statement.
