Guv, CM greet people of the state on the coming of a New Year

IMPHAL, December 30: The Governor Gurbachan Jagat has greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year’s Day, 2012.

In a message, the Governor said New Year’s Day is a special occasion for making new resolutions for the coming year and express hope that the coming year will be full of peace, happiness, harmony and prosperity.

While stepping into the new year, we should march forward keeping always our goal fixed firmly on where we want our state to be in future, by correcting the mistakes of the past. We should also reaffirm our resolve to support the forces of solidarity and harmony, setting aside the differences of caste, creed, language and religion. We should also resolve to figth and defeat the evil designs of divisive and destrutive forces, the Governor said in the message.

The Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has also greeted the people of Manipur with the coming of the new year. He also expressed hope that the new year will bring peace, prosperity and happiness to all.

The dawn of the New Year ushers in new hopes and expectations and it also gives us a chance to renew our resolve to strive for individual as well as collective well-being, a message of the Chief Minister said.
