Last session of 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly ends with the passing of two Bills

IMPHAL, December 22: The third and final day of the 12th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly ended today with the passing of two important government bills. The two bills passed today are the Lok Ayukta Bill 2011 and the Manipur Loktak Lake (Protection) (2nd Amendment) Bill 2011.

The Lok Ayukta Bill was passed by the state legislative assembly in the morning session of the last day at the new State Assembly building at Chingmeirong, while the Loktak Lake (Protection) (2nd Amendment) was passed during the day’s afternoon session.

At the end of the 12th session, the Manipur State Legislative Assembly Speaker tabled a complimentary report on the 2th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly on the floor of the House.

In his report, the Speaker stated that there were altogether nine stared and three un-stared questions, four calling attention.

Further during the three days, the House passed two government Bills and there were three paper presentations of separate committees of the House.

One private members resolution which was later withdrawn, he further announced.

After announcing the business affairs of the 12th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly, the Speaker further adjourned the House sine dine.
