IMPHAL, April 26: The co-ordination committee on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, Ukhrul has restricted open marketing/sale of alcohol, liqour, beer, rice beer etc in the district.
It has also restricted serving or sale of alcohol and any other intoxicating drinks to school going students and under-aged, chewing of tobacco and smoking by teachers/students in the school campus and outside school environment with uniform.
A press release of the committee said, a decision in this regard was taken on April 21.
Besides, each house owner has to act as guardian to occupants/tenants so as to avoid any unwanted activities from happening. It has further appeal to all communities in the District to co-operate and view the above matters seriously.
