IMPHAL, May 30: State Education Minister M Okendro today launched the official website ‘www.educationgovernment.in’ of the Department of Education, Government of Manipur and his official e-mail id ‘email@example.com’ at the Directorate of Education (S) Lamphelpat.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister invited suggestions and opinions in between May 30 and June 30 on ways to improve the education system in the state from the general public through the newly launched website and email.
The suggestions received from the public during the one month period will be highlighted to the Prime Minister of India, he continued.
He further urged the concerned departments to daily check the website and look into the suggestions and opinions received from the public.
Highlighting the recent success of several locals of the state in the UPSC and other competitive exams and the all India topper of the AISSCE, the Minister said that the state is not lacking behind in education as compared to other states of the country.
He further expressed that the Manipuri boy who topped the AISSCE is the first such instance from the North East.
He will also promote education tourism by highlighting the several successes of the state students in the various National level examinations during the All India Education Ministers meeting on June 5-6 at New Delhi.
Later in the evening the Minister also attended a meeting at the conference hall of the Directorate of Education (S) Lamphelpat and discussed several agendas concerning the department.
