IMPHAL, May 10: Model Club defeated ESU by 42 runs in today’s match of the Manipur Cricket Association, Classification Tournament 2011-2012 held at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Model Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Th Tomba of Model Club (opener) fired all cylinders hitting seven boundaries in 54 balls taking advantage of the power play.
Model club scored 199 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. In reply, Model bowler’s restricted ESU’s batsman at 157 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 40 overs.
S Priyobrata Singh of Model Club was declared Man of the Match for hitting 30 runs (not out) in 33 balls and 2 wickets. Tomorrow match: REYS vs PCC.
