State student tops CBSE Class XII

IMPHAL,May 28: Mohammad Ismat of Zenith Academy, Sangaiprou in Manipur’s Imphal West district who was declared the All India topper in the CBSE Class XII exam, results of which were

announced in New Delhi today believes in the saying “Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today.”

“The ongoing turmoil in the state which was the stumbling blocks of my studies in one way becomes the stepping stones as it creates a challenging mood,” says 20 year old Mohammad Ismat

reacting to a quick query about his preparation for the examination. “My studies timing also based on my concentration (on the respective subjects).”

Born to a retired primary school teacher Mv Bashirur Rahman and his late wife Shahidan Bibi, the beaming topper accompanied by his school teachers, said, “I’m

really delighted to hear such a cherished dream which I’ve been exploring for…”

A resident of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai village also in Imphal West district and youngest among a sibling of 7 sisters, Ismat who love to continue his graduation in New Delhi’s St

Stephen College to become a physicist, said, “I love to help the land in the scientific (technical) achievement in a peaceful manner.”

Formerly a student of Sainik School Imphal,the Manipuri topper who was educationally inspired by Albert Einstein also wanted to give credit for his success to almighty god as he faced health(piles) hindrance for 3 months till December last year in the run up to the examination. “I also give my credit to all the souls

who have lived so far and helped me, inspired me and enlighten to get such an achievement,” he opined.

S Manaoton, founding secretary of Zenith Academy, Sangaiprou who supports the student both educationally and financially till the submission of the examination forms etc hoped that Ismat would do something good for the nation in future.

Ismat got cent per cent marks in Mathematics, Chemistry, Home Science and Fine Arts except English(98) securing a total of 498 marks(99.6 percent) out of total 500. He was among 497

Academy students of which 490 students including 489 first divisioners passed in the examination.

Meanwhile agriculture minister and local MLA Md Abdul Nasir who is presently camping in Guwahati reportedly announced to give a cash award of Rs 1,11,111to the topper boy while former minister N Biren Rs 20,000.
