ADGP unhappy over progress of CI school

IMPHAL, June 13: Reacting to the Ministry of Defence, DIG Indraj displeasure over the non-completion of the Counter Insurgency and the Anti-Terrorism School/Subsidiary Training School at Yairolpokpi, the state ADGP (AP) PM Goud visited the school today, said a source.

Source informed that based on instructions from the central ministry DIG had inspected the school some 8 kms east of Jiribam PS on June 6 and had expressed intense displeasure over the incompletion of the school even after the centre has already released the required fund.

Showing his displeasure, he further said he will take up the issue with the state Chief Secretary, the source informed.

Meanwhile, according to the source, the state ADGP (AP) had taken the road for Jiribam on June 12.

Soon after his arrival at the sub-division, he directly inspected the more than 10 acres big school campus and found that construction of the school had been almost completed; however the power supply was yet to be connected.

Facilities of water supply in the school and the black topping of the approach road were also yet to be completed, the source added.

The source however said that the school in all likelihood would be inaugurated soon.

Construction of almost all infrastructures including quarter guard, administrative block, Jawan barrack, class rooms, sanitary block are completed, what is left is the connection of power supply, water supply and black topping of the approach road.

All forces under the Manipur Police including all newly inducted personnel especially the cdos and IRB personnel will be given counter insurgency and anti-terrorism training as part of a special course at the school, the source added.

It has also informed that all trainees and instructors will be provided 15 percent of their salaries as allowance.

The ADGP (AP) further inspected the Jiribam PS and would be staying at the electricity Inspection Bungalow at Jiribam for the night, the source informed.

Meanwhile, on his way to Jiribam, the police officer had also inspected all ROP duty posts along the road including 7th IRB Kaimai post, 7th IRB Oinamlong post, 7th MR Makru Post, 7th MR Old Kaiphundai post, 7th IRB Uchathol post, the source informed.
