Sectoral allocation of budget finalised

IMPHAL, June 13: The sectoral allocation of the annual budget has been finalized by the state cabinet today but a sum of more than Rs 600 crores would be directly deducted following the state overdraft incurred in the last few months.

The state plan size was fixed at Rs 3,500 crores for for the fiscal year 2012-2013 after preparation by the planning department which will be further allocated to the state departments.

A cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister today reviewed the financial heads and further agreed to absorb 24 additional women constables in the state force. The constable recruitment from the past election term was controversial as the 24 persons were in excess to the notified vacancies of the department. It was worked out by sanctioning posts from the higher posts (Havildars) and further to appoint them on the basis. The pay and posts will remain the same.
