IMPHAL, July 30: A team of Imphal West Commandos gunned down two suspected underground cadres today at 8.20 pm at Lamdeng Khunou Chingmei near Solid Waste Management Project located at four kilometres north of Lamsang Police Station.
The police have recovered one 9 mm pistol with one magazine and two live rounds, five empty cases of AK-47 bullets, two Chinese made hand grenades and two mobile handsets.
The slain persons are to be identified. One of the deceased persons was about 5.5 feet tall, well-built, medium complexioned with a small moustache and he was wearing a blue-black quarter pant, grey t-shirt and golden colour chain.
The other person was about five feet tall, thin and he was wearing an olive green pant with a white t-shirt. Both of them were found wearing sandals.
The dead bodies have been deposited at RIMS Mortuary for postmortem.
