Super Saturday Event Highlights for Team India

The organisers of the London Olympics have called August 4 , the eight day of London Olympic to be called as Super Saturday. This is also one of the busiest of the London Olympics 2012 event.

There are 25 Olympic Golds up for grabs , including Rowing, Swimming and Cycling. It’s the most glittering day of the Games.

As usual India will be participating in events highlighted below.

Womens Singles Badminton:
In the Women’s Singles Badminton, World Number Five Saina Nehwal will take on World Number Two Xin Wang of China in the play-off for the Bronze Medal.

Mixed Double Tennis:
In Mixed Doubles Tennis, the duo of Leander Paes and Sania Mirza will continue their unfinished quarterfinal match against the top-seeded Belarussian pair of Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka.

The Indians were trailing 5-7, 2-3, when the play was stopped because of  fading light on Friday.

Mens Boxing:

Devendro Singh Laishram in Light Flyweight and  Manoj Kumar in Light Welterweight will vie for entry in the quarterfinals.

Shooting Event:

Shagun Chowdhary will be figuring in the Women’s Trap event.

Track and Field:

In the Track and Field Events, Sudha Singh will participate in the 3,000-metre steeplechase.

Three other athletes, Irfan Thodi Kolothum, Baljinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh, will be in action in the 20-km walking race.
