Arunachal Pradesh: Flood situation improves

In Arunachal Pradesh, the flood situation improved today as the intensity of rains decreased and most of the major rivers and their tributaries showed a receding trend. Around 35 mm rainfall was recorded in worst-affected Lohit district since Tuesday and Tezu, its headquarters remained cut-off. With the improvement in the situation people have started returning to their villages from relief camps.

Heavy downpour since the past one week has left a trail of destruction in the low-lying and hilly regions of Lower Dibang Valley district. Flood situation in Anjaw district remained unchanged. All the major rivers, streams and nallahs of the district were in spate.
