Manipur: `RIMS dental college to start from 2013`

Manipur, IMPHAL, Sept 10: The prize distribution for the Governor’s Award and Rajkumari Sanatombi Sevi 2012, organized by R.K. Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya at Asha Jina Complex, Imphal today.

The award ceremony was organized to celebrate the excellence of the student’s achievements in academics as well as in extra-curriculum.

The celebration was graced by the Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat as the chief guest, joining him were Chief Minister of Manipur, O Ibobi Singh as the president and Education Minister M Oken Singh, as the guest of honour.

The Governor Gurbachan in his speech explained that, “Education should stimulate all aspects of human intellectual potential and that is equally important to ensure that the students are equipped with core values needed to live as responsible citizens in complex democratic societies.” He also expressed the importance of education in inculcating the ability to think and apply the knowledge they acquire in class rooms in solving social problems. He congratulated the awardees and expressed his appreciation to the Institution for its contribution in the field of education.

The Chief Minister of Manipur O. Ibobi on the occasion announced that the RIMS Dental College will start off by the next academic session of 2013.
