UNLF claims bomb blast

Manipur,IMPHAL, Sept 6: A day after a powerful IED explosion injured two Assam Rifles personnel at Keishampat Keisham leikai, the proscribed outfit United National Liberation Front, UNLF today claimed that its armed wing MPA was responsible for the explosion.

A press statement of the outfit made available to media houses of the state said the attack was planned by a small team of the MPA keeping in mind the presence of the civilian population in the vicinity and was aimed only on the Indian security forces on patrol duty in the area.

Lamenting that the Indian security forces have lined up people of Manipur and killed them on numerous occasions, the statement expressed there is no need to determine a time or place for initiating attacks on such security personnel.

It further claimed that the UNLF-MPA will continue to launch such immediate and surprising attacks on the Indian security forces. The statement however added that the outfit will always try not to hurt the civilians.

If in case the need arise, the UNLF-MPA will launch suicide missions, and as such the people of Manipur should try to distance themselves from the Indian army as far as they could, the release added.

The outfit has also come to know that some Manipuri girls are participating and celebrating the festivals of Ningol Chakkouba and Rakhi alongwith the Indian security forces, said the release.

Such acts only defame the courageous women folk of the state and the outfit is concern about such incidents, the statement said.
