IMPHAL, October 31: Subsequent to the encounter which took place at Gadai Jungle of Tamenglong district yesterday between the NSCN (IM) and ZUF cadres.
At least one cadre’s body was recovered yesterday by personnel of 13 AR and Dogra Regiment. However, police has not been able to enter the area as the militants are believed to be still in the vicinity and due to the thick foliage.
However, sources informed that some women civil organizations entered Gadai jungle today with speakers heralding their approach at around 8 am today. They had announced of providing humanitarian aid to the wounded cadres and further in the evening had taken out the body of three deceased individuals. The deceased are believed to be cadres of the NSCN (IM) sources said.
It was also learnt that there might have been some fatalities in the ZUF ranks but has not been confirmed as of yet.
Among the four bodies, three are identified and kept at Tamenglong District Hospital mortuary.
