JAC calls off indefinite general strike

LAMKA, Sep 30 (Universal News Agency): The indefinite general strike in Churachandpur district called by the JAC against the killing of Henkhothang Haokip, Chief of S. Nabil village has temporary suspended the general strike from tomorrow after 48 hours of imposed in the district said the spokesperson of the JAC on Sunday.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of Henkhothang Haokip, Chief of S. Nabil village has temporary suspended the indefinite general strike considering the appeal of general public and the government representative said the JAC spokesperson Paokhothang.

Though the JAC has temporary suspended the indefinite general strike it can be resume any time if the government fail to fulfil the demands of the JAC at the earliest possible time added the spokesperson.

The JAC also appreciate the support given by the general public during the last two days of general strike and also urge the public to support again in any future course of agitation if the government failed to meet the demands.

The JAC has suspended their indefinite general strike but the normal life activities was cripple today also in the district.

It can be noted here that the JAC are demanding the immediate arrest of Sehpu Haokip of Old Lambulane, Imphal west district, Lamkhomang of S. Nabil Village and Thangkholal of Vongjang Village and to award life imprisonment for justice and safety of the general public, to provide security to the eye witness and bereaved family.

And to arrest persons involved directly or indirectly in the cold blooded murder and to book them according to the law and to cease all the belonging of Sehpu Haokip.
