`High student intake, inappropriate infrastructure causing problems`

    IMPHAL, July 29: The Principal of Tamphasana Girl Higher Secondary School alongwith the Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur today called a press conference highlighting the lack of infrastructure of the school and the highly congested class rooms of the school.

    The press conference was held at the office of the school’s Principal today.

    Demanding proper and sufficient infrastructure for the school, Islauudin president DESAM said that the students of the school are facing several problems due to the increasing intake of students by the school.

    Highlighting the lack of infrastructure in the school, he said, five students have to share a single bench in all classrooms while due to lack of toilets, students have to stand in queues.

    Principal Sorojini said that it is a very good step taken up by the government to enroll a large number of students in the government schools, but without the provision of proper infrastructure and lack of teachers in the schools, it has only created problems for the students as well as the teachers.

    She further appealed to the concerned government authority to look into the problem faced by the school authority due to the large number of student enrollment in the school.
