CM led state delegate to explore development ventures in China, Japan; preparations taken up ahead of Ministry of External Affairs nod

IMPHAL, September 7: A high level state delegation led by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and comprising of ministers and other top ranking officials of the government would be leaving for China, Hongkong and Japan on September 15 to explore the various developmental works taken up in the foreign countries.

However, the delegation will have to take prior permission from Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for the trip which is expected to clear the trip.

Necessary works have already been started to sanction the fund amount for the officials’ trip, it added.

Sources said the delegation include the other half of CM Khangabok Constituency MLA O Landhoni Devi; Commerce & Industries/Sericulture and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Minister Govindas Konthoujam; Youth Affairs & Sports/Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Mairembam Prithviraj Singh; Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, IAS and Secretary to Chief Minister N Ashokumar, IAS.

During the extended trip, the team would inspect various projects and works taken up in power sector, industry and tourism sectors in the countries so as to implement the quality control works maintained at the places back in the state.

The team will also hold talks with experts and other officials of the countries and discuss minutely on how Manipur can gain help from the countries in the three sectors, informed the source.

Moreover, the team will also take down notes on subjects related with quality works witnessed in the modern countries where the State could gain, the sources informed.

It is estimated that around Rs 45 lakhs will be invested for the stated trip and the amount would be incurred by the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Manipur.
