CM condemns bomb attacks, assures stricter security for rail project

    IMPHAL, October 12: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has strongly condemned the bomb blast of September 29 where four persons were injured and the attack on October 6 at Tunnel No 8 of Imphal-Jiribam Rail line project injuring seven workers of construction agency M/S Coastal Projects Ltd.

    In a statement, the CM termed the attacks as inhuman and condemned as cowardly acts with a view to hamper the progress of the Railway project.

    The statement further added that the government viewed the attacks on workers very seriously as it is against national interest. It added that those responsible for the criminal action will not be spared and will be taken to task as per the law of the land at the earliest.

    The government also assures that the Railway authorities, project implementing agencies, construction agencies and workers that adequate security will be provided to ensure smooth implementation of Railway line project and further announced financial assistance of Rs 50000 per person for grievous injury and Rs 10000 per person for simple injury in the incidents as per the norms, the statement added.
