BJP’s new act: Good governance can ensure riddance of AFSPA

IMPHAL, January 12: BJP national spokesperson, Nirmala Sitharaman today launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and said the party is the most bias political party, which has resulted in its downfall in several states during the recent elections.

If a good government is present in the state, there would be no need of AFSPA in the state, she said during a mass enrolment camp cum political conference at Kongba Sadoubung Lampak.

The BJP national president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and the party’s national spokesperson are in the state to launch several such mass enrolment camps cum political conference of the party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Addressing one such camp at  Lamdaibung, Sangaiyumpham, Khangabok, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said even after so many years in power, Ibobi Singh led Congress government has failed to take up any welfare programmes to empower the youth, said BJP, national vice president MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today.

Lamenting that the state government has failed to encourage industries and small scale industries in the state, he said that it has only encouraged unemployment.

Even if the Congress continues to blame the BJP of being communal, it will never be able to win the support of the people, he said before adding that the scam-infested Congress will be taught a valuable lesson by the public.

The campaign was organised by the BJP, Manipur Pradesh and Thoubal District Committee.

He continued that Ibobi Singh government, during its decade long rule, has failed to work for the welfare of the people.

Taking a dig at the state government, he observed centrally provided funds meant for the welfare of the people have ended in their own pockets.

Today, the poor has become poorer and the rich become richer. No welfare schemes for the farmers have been taken up, he continued.

BJP ruled states especially Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh have developed a lot in the just a few years, he pointed out.

Crores and crores of supporters who want Narendra Modi to be the Prime Minister are waiting for a political change in the country, he said.

Averring that the state government is full of corruption, he said the “Muslims brother” gathered today at the programme have taught the BJP on how to unseat Ibobi from his chair.

BJP national spokesperson, Nirmala Sitharaman said while the Ibobi government in the state has been infamous for fake encounters, corruption and giving away land, the chief ministers of Gujarat and Tripura have become famous for bringing development to their respective states.

Meanwhile, state BJP president Th Chaoba also formally announced the induction of social worker Th Jadumani from Khangabok into the party during the camp.

Speaking at the Kongba Sadoubung Lampak camp, Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the people will benefit only when the government provides equal opportunity to its public.

BJP treats the people equally without any form of discrimination, she said before adding that the party has taken up several works for the benefit of the minority and backward people.

Development could only be brought about by good governance; however, in absence of good governance in the state, the people are today facing so many problems and issues, she said.

The state is today facing several sensitive as well as crucial issues like the international border fencing, although the Congress government in the state has failed to take up any concrete action.

While asserting that the party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be arriving in the state and lead a rally, she called upon the public to come out and join the rally.

Th Chaoba said the position of the Congress has been on the downfall through the country.

He blamed corruption and neglecting important issues by the Congress for its downfall.

The Food Security Act will also end as a failure in the state, where even distribution of PDS items have failed, he continued.

Even though the Act is yet to be implemented, local representatives have already started disturbing the form distribution and selection process of beneficiaries, he observed.

In the last more than ten years under the Congress, road connectivity, potable water availability, electricity supply in the state has suffered a lot, he said.
