IMPHAL January 3: Two men forcibly took a minor girl to travel with them in a car and dumped her in the early hours of January 1, 2014 after raping her one after the other.
The matter came to light today noon after the 14-year-old victim who hails from Thangmeiband Tarung village underwent forensic tests at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.
According to the aunt of the victim, the ill-fated incident took place during the intervening night of December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014. She said the girl has been staying with her since she was a child at Happy Valley, Tarung. That night she had gone to celebrate new year with other people from the locality at RMA church.
The two accused, Asang Shimray of Deulahland and Aboi Shimray of Nagaram had come at the same place to meet a girl from the locality in an Alto car. Approximately one hour after the clock struck twelve and the world was celebrating the coming of a new year, the two men reportedly pulled the victim inside the car and drove away after threatening her against making any loud noise.
Aboi raped her first then Asang took his turn after taking her to his residence, the victim’s aunt said.
The girl was later dumped near a church at Namdulong, from where she reached home at around 5 am with the help of a friend. After reaching home, the girl narrated her horrid ordeal to her family members.
She informed that a complaint had been lodged at Lamphel Police Station yesterday and the police arrested Asang yesterday and Aboi this morning.
A case has been taken up against the two accused by the police under FIR Number 3 (1) 2014 under section 366 A/ 367/ 376(2) (g) Indian Penal Code.
