Deplorable road condition sparks Wangkhei locals` ire

IMPHAL, March 12: The Wangkhei Angom Leikai United Youths’ Club (WALUYC) set a deadline of March 16, to start black topping of the road stretch starting from Thangal General Statue to Wangkhei Bus Terminus (Andro Parking) which is lying unattended failing which it warned to take up intense form of agitation.

Speaking at a press conference called by the WALUYC today the president of the club, RK Gokulchandra Singh said that the state government has started construction of roads from Sanjenthong to Hapta Kangjeibung and Thangal General Statue to Wangkhei Bus Terminus (Andro Parking) under the supervision of Public Work Department.

However, the road stretch from Thangal General Statue to Wangkhei Bus Terminus (Andro Parking) has been left out incomplete till date, he said.

He claimed that the commuters and people residing along the route are exposed to health hazard especially respiratory infection.

RK Gokulchandra Singh further informed that the WALUYC will organized a public meeting shortly in connection with the issue and also against selling of liquor openly.
