Eight in fray for Inner seat

IMPHAL, March 26: Eight candidates will contest for one seat in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Lok Sabha Election.

The inner constituency will go to the polls on April 17, 2014.

The last candidate to file nomination for the Inner seat was Aam Admi Party candidate Dr Khwairakpam Ibomcha.

He submitted his nomination paper on the last day of nomination file to the Returning Officer K Radhakumar, Deputy Commissioner Imphal West today.

The scrutiny of the nomination paper of the eight candidates will be conducted on March 27.

The last date of withdrawal of nomination will be on March 29, with April 17 being the day of polling.

The aspirant candidates are sitting MP Dr Th Meinya of Indian National Congress; Dr RK Ranjan of Bharatya Janata Party; former IPS officer Sarengthem Manaobi (Retd) of All India Trinamool Congress, Dr Gurumayum Tonsana Sharma of Manipur Democratic People’s Front, Dr M Nara of Communist Party of India (common candidate of left and Secular Alliance), independent candidate Oinam Indira , Oinam Jotin candidate from Jai Maha Bharat Party and Dr Kh Ibomcha of Aam Admi Party.
