IMPHAL, March 26: There are 2972 state electorates who are in the active service of 71 thousand total voters outside the state, which can change the outcome of the polls, said independent candidate Indira Oinam.

She was interacting with media persons during a press conference at her residence at Pishum Imphal West this morning.

She suggested that it is very important for all the candidates intending to contest both in the state assembly or Lok Sabha election to determine who are service voters and how it is cast during poll.

Any servicemen whether in defence and those in foreign soil according to the ECI’s guidelines the voters slip should be dispatched within 48 hours after scrutiny to their service place through special postal arrangement or as postal ballot paper, asserted Independant candidate Indira.

Unfortunately, only the ruling government has the knowledge of this processing, she said adding that alleged this could be the key of the present Government in previous election to their favour.

Expressing her confusion over how the 71 voters cast their valuable votes, Indira revealed that a written statement has been submitted to CEO and ECI to provide the true copy of service voter to ascertain the details of the process.

“It very clear that the key winning strategy of congress could be unlocked once the information is acquired as the 71 thousand voters can change the political scenario in Manipur”, continued Indira.

She appealed the public and candidates of all parties who are in the fray to be aware of service votes.
