Teachers` body laments government apathy

CCPUR, March 15: The All Tribal Primary Teacher Association 2011, Hindi Primary Teacher Association 2011 and Hindi Graduate Teacher in a joint press hand out have expressed their plight due to the long negligence by the state government.

It further said that after a fervent appeal and promise from the concerned department, the state government has failed to process the EIN/MGEL of the 804 teachers which has resulted in the failure to release seven months salaries.

The hand out signed by the president of the association Hegin Kipgen and general secretary L Valte said that that they are surprised by the negligence of the education department while the teachers have been doing their duties with utmost sincerity and stressed that they had the right to get their salaries every month as they were genuinely recruited through DPC held in 2006.

Denying of salary for the last seven months is a violation of Article number 23, 21 and 41 of the right of the children to free and compulsory education (right to live with human dignity) that was enshrined in the constitution of India, the press handout said.

It further said that the post creation order dated December 20, 2014 was mainly for the valley and has failed to settle MGEL related issue.

The association pointed out that, if the above stated problems are not solved at the earliest, they will neglect their duty in the forthcoming 16th Lok Sabha election for which the Manipur government should be held responsible.
