Primary school teacher found dead under mysterious conditions

IMPHAL, May 8: An assistant teacher of a government primary school was found dead this morning under mysterious condition, from a hillock near the Don Bosco School, Senapati.

45-year-old Luni Mathew’s body was first noticed around 8 am today by Don Bosco students who were passing by, who informed the police.

The body had bruise mark on the back and a head injury was also visible.

A local social worker, S Kho John said Luni Mathew who is from Tungjoy Village, Senapati is an assistant teacher at the Chinamai Primary School.

Speaking to media persons at JNIMS Morgue where the body had been deposited, John said Mathew left home on May 6 morning, and had stayed the night of September 7 at Senapati bazar before his body was found this morning.

Pointing at the presence of bruise marks on the body and the head injury, he expressed suspicion that Mathew could have been killed.

Later, family members claimed the body after post mortem was conducted at JNIMS morgue late in the evening today.
