Bishnupur, June 22: Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL), Bishnupur, celebrated its 9th Foundation Day at Yangoi Ningthou Community Hall, Bishnupur (Lumlangdong) Kethel. Near about 100 people participated and selected Social Activists representing Civil Organisations were honoured by offering Shawls.
Phanjoubam Shakhi Leima, President, Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) was the Chief Guest and Sumati Oinam, President, ANUL, presided over the function. The Guests of Honour were Thokchom Ramani, General Secretary, All Manipur Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj), Soibam Momon Leima, President, Tammee Chingmee Apunba Nupi Lup (Chingmee Tammee), Kshetrimayum Ronibala, President, Manipur Chanura Leishem Marup (Macha Leima), Tongbram Ibemcha, President, Ireibak Inat Chanura Loina Shinlon (IICHAL). R.k. Ranendrajit, Editor, Freedom, spoke as a resource person.
T. Ibemcha stated that contemporary mothers need to check the character and dresses of their daughters as many accidental crimes are occurring frequently and so there is a need to care for the cultural values. Shakhi Leima said, the excessive Narcotic Pills being flooding in Manipur affects the mental state of the growing youths and diverts the sense patriotism. Further, she added, due to AFSPA, Security Personals are having excessive power to kill our sons anytime and anywhere, so we should believe in our right for freedom and we should love our sons who are spending their nights and days in the forests giving up their joy of youths.
