Candidates disappointed over non issuance of appointment letters

IMPHAL, August 24: Several assistant sub inspectors in Manipur Police selected candidates today held a press meet at the Manipur Press Club decrying the government’s failure to provide their appointment letters.

Speaking at the press conference, spokesperson Nongthang Chingabam said it is disappointing for them.

He said all together 315 candidates were selected in the ASI recruitment rally in the year 2010 and they have been waiting for their appointment letters ever since.

A memorandum over the delay had been submitted to the Chief Minister, including copies to the DGP, chief secretary and principal secretary Home, he said.

In the memorandum, they have submitted that the delay is jeopardising their future, he said while declaring that the four and half year wait has become the longest wait for any appointment letter.

The candidates have also appealed to the concerned authorities to release their appointment letters at the earliest and took out a rally later in the day.
