IMPHAL, August 11: The Federation of Government College Teachers’ Association, Manipur has demanded early restoration of academic activities and peaceful environment in the university.
According to a release of the federation, the university authorities must take up immediate steps for dialogue with the agitating students and other stakeholders to come to an understanding and amicable solution to the present crisis keeping in mind the academic future and the interest of the students.
The federation had further stated that violence and authoritarian methods will not solve the problems of the university and has appealed to the concerned authorities of Manipur University to take decisions in consultation with all the affected groups and stakeholders in future in a democratic manner and not to repeat such avoidable events, it said.
