Monika JAC claims she was murdered

IMPHAL, August 10: The JAC formed in connection with the alleged killing of Leikangbam (n) Akoijam (o) Monika Devi submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh declaring that her body will not be claimed until the perpetrators are booked and cause of death determined. 

Speaking to media persons in this regards at the Manipur Press Club, JAC convenor Soiram Shyamsunder Singh strongly condemned the death and alleged that Monika was ill treated by her husband and in laws.

Monica was married to Ak Jiban Singh.

He further claimed the death to be a murder.

A copy of the memorandum was also sent to the deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio and local MLA W Brajabidhu. 

Leikangbam (n) Akoijam (o) Monika Devi, wife of Ak Jiban Singh of Lamsang Taothong Apunba, Lamsang, was rushed to RIMS following an ailment on the intervening night of August 7-8 around 1.30 by her husband, but, was pronounced dead at 3am by hospital authority.
