IMPHAL, January 7: People Protection & Development Committee, Wangoi along with the Protection Committee of Wangoi CHC has submitted a memorandum to the State Chief Minister and Health & Family Welfare minister for the restoration of the already existing Community Health Centre, Wangoi.
Speaking at a press meet, secretary of the People`™s protection & Development Committee, Wangoi W Jitendra Singh said the memorandum has included a prayer for an official order for the continuing of CHC at its present location.
The healthcare service at the Community Health Centre, Wangoi should be restored immediately by re installing all machines and posting of all medical staffs, he demanded.
Further in the press meet convenor Protection Committee of Wangoi CHC Sherkhan Meinam said that CHC Wangoi is the only health care centre in the area providing medical care to the surrounding villages.
He said a cabinet decision taken on October 9, 2014 had resolved to utilize the CHC as a Rural health Training Centre of JNIMS with immediate effect.
Following the decision, the authorities concerned had started removing the medical staff and machines of the CHC one by one, paralysing the health care sector in the area, he charged.
