Suresh Prabhu assures full fledge sub division office and Imphal-Kohima new railway track: BJP

IMPHAL, February 28: The Union Minister of Railway Suresh Prabhu has assured a full-fledged railway sub-division office for in Imphal and a new railway connection track between Imphal and Kohima in near future, said M Asnikumar General Secretary BJP Manipur Pradesh.

While interacting over phone call, M Asnikumar who is in New Delhi currently said that yesterday delegates comprising of State BJP President Th Choaba and himself met Suresh Prabhu Union Minister Railay at around 5pm at Railway Bhawan New Delhi.

During the 15 minute meeting, the BJP Manipur Pradesh delegate urged the Union Minister to speed up the completion of the first railway track between Jiribam to Tupul and Tupul to Imphal.

Asnikumar further said they appealed to the Union Minister to consider a ropeway between two railway stations of Noney and Tupul. If a ropeways is installed between these two stations, it would be of extreme convenience to passengers.

The Union Minister assured the BJP delegate of looking into the feasibility of such a ropeway, which would be constructed at an estimated of Rs. 15 crores.

Prabhu has also given directives to the Railways Board to speed up the construction works of the Jiribam to Tupul rail link and also asked for weekly progress report of the construction work.

Asnikumar further said the Union minister further assured the BJP Manipur delegation that the Ministry will soon begin to survey the possible track line for Imphal- Moreh railway link.

The Minister also said that very soon a full-fledge sub-division office for the Railways will open at Imphal for the convenience of the people of the State, Asnikumar said.

The Minister also agreed to visit Manipur either in March or April as per the Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi`™s standing instruction for Union ministers to visit the NE States for every month.

Asnikumar further said the BJP delegate also met Arun Jaitley Union Minister Finance and Information & Broadcasting and Piyus Goyal Union Minister of Power and Renewable government of India at around 4 pm for 30 minute at his official at the Parliament House.

During the meeting, the Finance Minister assured banking facilities in the remote hills and valley village of Manipur.

He further assured sanction of a special package for the people of Manipur to improve the rural livelihood. The Minister gave assurance to look into the matter of opening several banks in various remote villages.

As the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Jaitley further agreed to give maximum help towards promoting the welfare of the state journalist fraternity. He has agreed to license more radio and FM channels.

M Asnikumar further said Piyus Goyal Union Minister Power and Renewable also assured to study the feasibilities of Green power projects which can fill up the shortage of energy in the State.
