Aids for differently abled persons distributed

IMPHAL, March 28: The Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Person, Manipur distributed aids and appliances to differently abled person in convergence with ALIMCO, Guwahti at Tera Sapam Leirak, Gopalaji Mandop today.

During the function, artificial limb, wheel chair roller, hearing aid, elbow crust, try cycle, keliber, bwall kit, aultwil crust were distributed to around 100 differently abled person.

Revenue/Arts & Culture/CAF & PD, Kh Radhakumar Singh as chief guest of the function said that to bring a better society everyone should treat everybody equally, without discriminating normal from differently abled persons.

He said normal persons should not look down upon the differently abled persons. They should be treated equally and with love, he added.

Anyone can`™t predict the future, the normal also might become differently abled person, he said and continued that there is a need to change the mindset of every person for the development of differently abled person and moreover should welcome when they seek help.

Former president of Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Person as president charged that the Social Welfare Minster, AK Mirabai did not come forward to work for the betterment of differently abled person.

He said that at a function the Minister claimed that as per 2011 census report in the State, of the 52,000 differently abled persons in the State, 22,000 were extended benefits. He however questioned the Minster on the fate of the remaining 30,000 left in the lurch.

Lip service will not help. It is work on the ground which is necessary, he further charged.
