Naharup locals clean Iril River

IMPHAL, March 29: Two local clubs of Naharup namely Naharup Youth Moral Development Association (NYMDA), Naharup Mayai Leikai and Youth Organisation Club (NYO), Naharup Makha Pat have jointly conducted a one day social service programme to clean up Iril River within their parameter.

General secretary NYMDA,Th Surendra Singh said due to less rainfall the river is diminishing gradually. He said dumping of garbage into the river has also made the river dirty and stagnant.

He said that the river is feeding the surrounding people as it is the main source of water in the area.

He urged the public not to dump garbage into the river making it more pollute and non useable to the public.

Forest conservator Th Mahindra Pratap also rendered awareness to save forest to the public of Naharup area.
