Hunters remain untraceable after trip to Moltun area

Thoubal, Jun 7: Four villagers of Tonsen Khullen in Chandel District who went for hunting and fishing have failed to return home since the past 4 days, according to family members.

Tonsen Khullen chief T Bijoy Kom said K Rajamani kom, 55, son of (L) Thonglen Kom, Y Mandana Kom, 39, son of Y Ibochou Kom, Yumnam Koireng, 30, son of Y Ibochou and Sr Koko Kom, 29, son of Sr Sanahongba Kom left the village along with their license guns for hunting and fishing near Moltuh area on June 3.

However, they have failed to return home till date, and their whereabouts remain unknown, he said.

An FIR has been lodged with the Sugnu Police Station as the family members have failed to make any contact with the four, he said.

This has created much apprehension to the families and their friends as the security forces are conducting combing operation in the area following the June 4 ambush near Paraolon Village, he told media persons.

He further appealed to the security forces not to harm them and help them reach their home safely in case they find them.
