IMPHAL, July 11: A rifleman of 5th Manipur Rifles posted as a guard for Northern Frontier Railway Construction Company Limited at Barak under Nungba Police Station in Tamenglong district was found dead in his bed inside the barracks room yesterday early morning.
Police sources identified the deceased as Laishram Babuyaima Singh, 45 son of L Shyamjai Singh of Keinou Thongkha Makha Leikai.
After Babuyaima failed to turn up for morning roll call parade, his colleagues searched for him but found dead in his bed inside the barracks room. His post commander has reported the incident.
He went to sleep after performing his duty on July 9 but found dead next morning. He may have died of stroke.
The dead body has been handed over to the deceased`™s family after conducting post mortem examination at JNIMS morgue today, the sources said.
