IMPHAL, Sept 6: The Autonomous District Council (ADC) Sadar Hills termed the passing of the three new Bills as violation of the Constitution of India on Sunday.

Briefing media persons after an emergency meeting of ADC Sadar Hills at Kangpokpi, Haokholal Hangsing its chairman said that the emergency meeting strongly condoled the death of eight civilians in the aftermath of the passing of the three bills by the Manipur State Assembly on August 31.

He said the meeting decided to appeal the government that the outbreak of the present turmoil in the State should be immediately contained and bring normalcy at the earliest.

The meeting further lamented that the process of the passing of bills overlapped the mandated functionary of the Manipur Hill Area Committee and the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Council Act, he said.

The ADC Sadar Hill also urged the government to review the three bills for the good of all lest the continuous social disorder in the State may lead to loss of confidence and trust to the government, added Haokholal Hangsing.

The emergency meeting expressed deep concern to the bereaved families.
