IMPHAL Oct 31: The closing ceremony of the 8th fortnight barrier free campaign 2015 was held today at Manipur Press Club on the theme `Break barriers: Minimized disabilities`™ organized by Handicapped Development Foundation Manipur along with the office of the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities, GoM.
Khaidem Mani, senior advocate; W Samjai, president, AMWJU; Khaidem Ahanjao Singh, district social welfare officer, IW and L Nabakishwar Singh, State commissioner for persons with disabilities attended the function as dignitaries.
On the occasion several types of barrier were discussed by the resource persons ranging from educational barrier to social, economic and political barriers. Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 was revisited with concerns about the apathy of the State Government to fully implement the Act till date.
