YPA decides to boycott Paite speaking MLAs Vungzagin and Phungzathang

CHURACHANDPUR, October 8: The Young Paite Association today held a wide and extensive discussion on the present situation particularly in Churachandpur district following the passing of the three bills on August 31 by the State Assembly.

The discussion was held at the YPA General Headquarter Hall at Hingtam Lamka.

Four YPA blocks of Lamka, New Lamka, Singhat and Imphal unanimously decided to boycott two Paite speaking MLAs namely Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte and Health minister Phungzathang Tonsing.

The YPA resolved that the two MLAs will be sidelined or boycotted by the Paite community in times of distress, grief or happiness.

At the same time, the association has also expressed sympathy for the family of (L) Thangliansiam who was found hanging allegedly in a suspicious manner.

Meanwhile, the officers of the defence force of India who called themselves `Eimi military officers` donated a total of Rs 1 lakh for the nine killed during the recent agitations in Churachandpur, while around 50 womenfolk from Sadar Hills also came today to pay their respect and condolence to the nine.

The womenfolk from Sadar Hills brought nine traditional shawls and handed over Rs 6000 for the nine.

Schools also re-opened today till noon, with womenfolk guarding the school gates against any protest.
