BJP candidate Tombi’s son shifted to Shija

IMPHAL, Jan 20: Angom Dipak Singh, 29, who was allegedly subjected to police beatings after being slapped by commerce and Industry Minister Govindas Konthoujam, on January 17, has been referred to Shija hospital following discharge of blood from his mouth.

Dipak was allegedly subjected to police along with his entire family including mother Angom Tombi, Aruna and Sonia (sisters) under the order of Gonvindas Konthoujam at the Bishnupur police station on January 17 before being taken into police custody following a complaint lodged against them by congress worker.

On January 18, they were produced before CJM Bishnupur and remanded to police custody till Tanuary 25 by the court. However, with his condition reportedly unstable Dipak was hospitalised at the Bishnupur district hospital and remained there since.

It is learnt that today his condition further deteriorated after vomiting blood and was referred to Shija Hospital this evening around 4.52 pm. He is current lodged at the special ward (no 3) of the hospital.
