IMPHAL, February 28: Supporting the stand of 20 Congress party MLA against the state Home Minister’s decision to suspend five CDOs in the NSF row, BJP MLA Joykishan during a press meet held at his Thangmeiband residence said that the state Home Minister has suspended 5 CDOs even after his declaration that CDOs were not involved in harassment of NSF members.
He said that during the ongoing Assembly session he and Thongju BJP MLA Th Bisorjit had raised public related issued during the demand discussion part of the assembly session.
Manipur Development Society (MDS) is the prime failure of government said Joykisan and called to strengthen Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to bring out to fall out misappropriations of the public funds.
In this regard, Joykishan during the session raised many a times of the issue but The Speaker of the house diverted the issue saying that PAC is still active and alleging against PAC would fall sub Judice or under judgement which he agreed.
In the press meet he appealed for the Public Accounts Committee headed by Dr I Ibohalbi Singh MLA Oinam A/c as Chairman of the committee and members L Ibomcha Singh MLA Keisamthong A/c, RK Anand MLA Naoria Pakhanglakpa A/c, T Mangi Babu MLA Thanga A/c, TN Haokip MLA Saikot A/c, Sameul MLA Risom Ukhrul A/c and E Chand MLA Yaiskul A/c to safeguard the public fund taking strong measures as committee of PAC by dismissing the dirty politics works of the ruling.
For decades, no Assembly Committee in the Manipur Legislative Assembly has raised a voice against any ill practice of the government defying the meaning of Committee he asserted.
He said that he believes in the current PAC led by Dr I Ibohalbi Singh and other capable MLAs.
He said that it was unfortunate misappropriation in the MDS did not come up for discussion during the Assembly session but questions were somehow raised during star questions and calling attention.
Further, he said that in later sessions of the ongoing budget session he will raise questions against the fund misappropriations and any government activities that are beyond the constitution.
He said that he will raise question on what ground service extension is served to many of the Government employees without proper reasons.
He expressed that many of the young MCS and IAS officers are kept suppressed and some handpick officers are given service extension without any legitimate reasons suppressing the calibre of the young MCS and IAS officers.
