National president has advised to control party’s rein till 2017 election: Chaoba

IMPHAL, February 25: Incumbent president of the BJP Manipur Pradesh Th Chaoba has received direction from the party’s national president Amit Shah to lead the party into the 2017 State Assembly Election, according to Chaoba himself.

Speaking to IFP on the phone, Chaoba who is presently in the national capital said he met Amit Shah this evening around 4:30 pm and the meeting continued for about 45 minutes.

The meeting, he said occurred at the 11 Akbar Road, New Delhi residence of the BJP national president.

He said the national president has advised him to extend his stay along with his team in the national capital for a few more days for the sole purpose of meeting key functionaries of the NDA government.

Further during the meeting, the president talked on the upcoming IMC election and further advised him to lead the party in the 2017 election, he added.

Chaoba said he talked of the present Congress government’s inefficiency especially in the hills for the last 14 years.

Meanwhile a source informed that the BJP Manipur president had highlighted before the national president that there is no accountability and transparency in the process of implementation of central schemes in the State.

The national president was also informed that although huge funds have been sanctioned by the Centre, several projects like the Khuga Multipurpose Project are lying unused, informed the source.

Amit Shah was also briefed about the sensibilities of the people and their apprehension regarding any development in the talk between the Government of India and NSCN IM, informed the source.
