Manipur Government Ministry re-shuffle hopeful after March

IMPHAL, March 22: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, who were summoned to Delhi for the second time have returned to the State capital today.

Sources said that during their visit the two leaders met with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi yesterday afternoon to further discuss on the demands raised by the dissident MLAs in the State, including replacement of incompetent ministers and uphold the principle of ‘one man one post’ within the party.

V Narayan Swami, the party’s Manipur incharge was also present during the meeting, the sources said.

It has been informed that during the meeting an amicable solution was arrived at between the parties with regards to the demands of the dissident group.

While the process for replacement of the MPCC president, as demanded by the dissident under the ‘one man one post’ principle, has been set in motion; there was no immediate measures when it comes to affecting re-shuffle within the Ministry, said the sources adding that the re-shuffle would be likely to happen after the end of current fiscal year.

Nevertheless, how many Minister would be replaced still remains uncertain.
