Postal’s cease work strike called off

IMPHAL, Mar 8: Staff of the Manipur Postal Service division has called off its indefinite cease-work strike called demanding the transfer and action against the Director Postal Service Vinod Kumar.

The decision to call off the strike from today was arrived at following assurance of the postmaster general NE Circle, Shillong I Pangarnungsang to translate the union’s demands.

A statement of the All India Postal Employees Union P-III and P-IV Manipur Divisional Branch, Imphal Organisation secretary N Gojendra said that the postmaster general has assured to translate the demands made by union during a meeting held at Imphal today.

He further said that the staff and union members appreciated the positive action of the postmaster general in the interest of the staffs of this division.

“The assurance given by the postmaster general, north east circle will be watched and if required next stage of agitation will be initiated with more vigor” he added.
