BISHNUPUR, February 29: In protest against the alleged misappropriation of fund in the name of clearing phumdis at Loktak Lake, BJP Kumbi Mandal staged a sit-in-protest at Kumbi Terakha Community Meitei Shanglen, Bishnupur district today.
Ex-MLA of Kumbi Constituency N Mangi who was present at the protest demonstration said that funds sanctioned for development at Loktak and Kumbi which were misappropriated by the Congress government in the State should be investigated by the CBI.
General secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh M Asnikumar; Chairperson of Kumbi Municipal Council N Ibecha; Vice-Chairperson WC Bobychand Luwang; Councillor W Meghachnadra and several Council Members also took part in the sit-in-protest.
Placards which read ‘’Include roads in Kumbi in blacktopping’’, ‘Corruption in the name of clearing phumdis at Loktak’’, ‘’Where have the funds for clearing the Loktak phumdis gone’’, ‘’Government looted funds sanctioned for tourism’’ and ‘’Repair Kumbi-Moirang Road’’ were displayed at the protest site.
